Tom: When I got to the office in Knoxville, they cabbed me over to Oak Ridge and introduced me — the one that introduced me was Captain Brown, and he was the one I worked for. Now, during this time they put me on various jobs, and everything was just totally top secret. I mean it was just — I wouldn’t even talk to you about what I’m doing.

And so when I went over to Jim Wright’s office, there was some information we interchanged. I saw that girl back there [points to Martha] — that was his secretary.

Martha: That was me! [laughter] From then on I was his!

Tom: I’m telling you in a hurry too. [laughter] I was twenty-seven years old, never had seen anybody I wanted to marry.

Martha: [laughter]

Tom: But when I met her… ninety days later we were married.

Everything fit. Still does.

Martha: I remember that. Well, I don’t know why I liked him so fast, but I did.
